No. The notary must be in New York for the remote act, but the signer can be elsewhere, subject to the legal requirements that apply to the session and the document.
Apostilles are used for countries that recognize apostilles. Some destinations require a certificate of authentication instead. We recommend confirming the destination requirement before final submission.
The posted apostille service price includes New York state fees, transportation costs, and handling. Remote notary fees are separate if the document still needs notarization.
